ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES David joined Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality in 2014 and is based in Prague, Czech Republic. David´s responsibility at Cushman & Wakefield is to lead the Central & Eastern European hospitality team (investment, valuation, development advisory and operator selection processes) and support Cushman & Wakefield with any hotel investment or development opportunities in entire EMEA region. David leads a team of experts and consultants focusing on hospitality investments, hotel valuation, operator selection and advisory on hotel development and asset management in Prague, Warsaw and Budapest. He overlooks the Hospitality business in Southern & Eastern Europe as well. WORK EXPERIENCE David has over 18 years of experience in the hospitality sector. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, David acted as Conducting Officer of alternative investment vehicles such as Keystone Hospitality Fund in Luxembourg. Prior to that David worked for 7 years in leadership and managerial positions at an international private equity investment company focusing on hotel developments and operations in Europe. KEY ASSIGNMENTS • Development Advisory – David led and organized several successful hotel developments across the CEE region and was directly responsible for delivering hotels from Economy to Luxury segment. In his past career he successfully developed and opened more than one thousand hotel rooms. In C&W David advised numerous hotel and hospitality related asset classes in form of the Feasibility and Concept studies within CEE & SEE region and supported investors and developers in the best utilization of the build-able areas to achieve fastest return of the investments and minimizing the development costs. • Investment Advisory – David personally advised Czech family fund R2G Heritage in the acquisition of the Hotel InterContinental in Prague which was also the biggest hotel investment transaction in CEE ever realized. In addition, since he joined C&W, David transacted (sell-side or buy-side) hotel assets in total value close to 1 billion EUR. David is personally involved in all the hotel transactions in CEE & SEE region. • Asset Management – David was involved in a multiple asset management instructions in CEE region including for example the upscale hotel in Prague with 412 rooms. Due to his extensive hotel operational experience (more than 10 years), David is able to advise on best utilization of operating & non-operating costs and grow the GOP & EBITDA profitability of respective hotel assets. • Operator Selection Advisory – David is leading all the operator search instructions in CEE & SEE region due to his extensive experience and is able to advise on Franchise, Management or Lease agreement structures. He personally led for example operator selection processes of InterContinental in Prague (372 keys) which changed the brand to Fairmont Hotels and Resort, Kempinski Sofia (400 keys), Zleep Hotel Prague (140 keys), Holiday Inn Express Budapest (190 keys) and many others; • Loan Facility Arrangement – David has advised on numerous debt raising processes for hotel development projects as well as hotels under operation in CEE.
